Discovery & Design/Robotics
Laingsburg Middle School is in our second year of our Discovery & Design/Robotics course. Thanks to a generous grant from the Laingsburg Educational Advancement Foundation in December 2011, LMS was able to purchase 20 LEGO NXT Robotics kits and began robotics instruction in January 2012.
Students in Discovery & Design learn a variety of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (S.T.E.M.) concepts throughout the course. Activities range from hands-on design and building of bridges/towers, bottle rockets, and more to building and programing the LEGO NXT Robots to complete a series of tasks or challenges.
